Dunedin Meat Freezing. Dunedin.—The Refrigerating Company has sold a second cargo of 250 tons of frozen meat, to be delivered on board a steamer sailing from Port Chalmers in November. There arc 8000 sheep required. and over 12,000 have already been offered. The price to be paid is 2f per lb the owners of the sheep receiving the value of the skins and tallow. This cargo is in addition to 2500 sheep already frozen for the Marsala. TOO MANY FIRES. Timaru.—A fire broke out at three o’clock on Sunday morning in Coxhead’s photo shop, one of a block in Georgestreet. It was first noticed by a loud explosion, the roof of the building and windows being blown out. The flames spread to an empty shop on one side, and to Wood and Smith’s drapery and R. Turnbull’s grocery shops on the other. All but Turnbull’s were destroyed, and his goods were seriously damaged. This is the fourth time this block has been on fire within six or eight months, in every case under suspicious circumstances. Turnbull’s loss will be above the insurance.
