AMERICAN BROOM CORN.

Settlers in the North Island are having their attention directed to the cultivation of American broom corn. The whisk, which is used in the manufacture of hard cloth brushes and brooms, is sold at from (id to Is Id per lb. in London, prices varying according to the roughness of the whisk. The crop of broom corn, it is said, matures in four months, and September and October are months to plant it here.
