The recreation ground is to be re-let, according to resolution. Sections Nos. 2, 3, and G, have been thrown up by the occupiers, and it was resolved to re-let two of them also. It was decided to take over section 2 and repair fences, and when funds will permit to erect a cottage on it for a caretaker, who will have to look after the whole of the

domain. Mr Mnir applied for permission to back his cart up to the lower door of his store across the footpath ; but the board had no power to grant his request. The Star Cricket Club applied for leave to fence in a piece of ground, 2 chains by 1 chain, to be used as a cricket pitch, on the recreation reserve. Their request was complied with. It was proposed that the Chairman be authorised to write to the Governor, asking for power to sue for arrears of rents in the domain. Several accounts were passed, and the meeting adjourned. A football match between the youths of Patea and Waverley, was played on the recreation ground, Waverley, on Saturday, and resulted in a draw. The weather was very squally.

The tender of Messrs Mucfarlane and Swinbourne for the station buildings at Whenuakura, has been accepted. The price is stated to be £520. It will be a month or six weeks before the timber can be on the ground. The Government will make a reasonable allowance if they cannot get the timber in time, owing to the bridge accident. ' ’
