SALVATION SOLDIERS.
The Salvation Array seems to be going ahead at home, overriding all difficulties, and. “ General ” Booth is in the receipt of money from all parts of the world. The Congress Hall at Lower Clapton, which cost over £20,000, is now paid for, and a large building has been taken on the Surrey side of the water, to be called the Camberwell Barracks, and the “ General ’ says he means to make the Camberwell sinners pay for it. As illustrating the unexpected way in which help and encouragement is given ■to the movement, “ General ” Booth read the following letter at a recent meeting in the Congress Hall :—“Dunedin, New Zealand, sth April. Dear sir—Can you see your way to send to the rescue of perishing souls in this respectable and highly-favored city ? Herewith please find draft £2OO. The Lord reward you and yours. (Faithfully), A Wellwisher.”— Another noteworthy fact, perhaps, is that the War Cry has now reached a weekly circulation of 280,000, and the children’s paper, the Little Soldiei a circulation of 50,000.
