NORTH AGAINST WILLIAMS.
The Court has been occupied most of the day in bearing the first of four motions for upsetting the proceedings in W. William’s bankruptcy ; and Mr Cowern, the trustee, is still under examination, much time being taken up with legal contentions. Mr Harnerton appears for the bankrupt and for those who have to show cause why a rule should not be granted on one or all the motions. Mr Hughes and Mr Barton for Mr North and several other creditors. The motions are (1) to upset proofs of debt, ( 2) for a partnership account between bankrupt and sons, (3) for sale of properties alleged to be fraudulently transferred, and (4) to stop allowance of L 3 a week to debtor. M’KITTRICK’S BANKRUPTCY. No tenders for the Central Hotel were received at the adjourned meeting of creditors held this afternoon at Mr Horner’s office ; Mr Taplin presiding. A valuation made showed stock and furniture to be worth £1617, exclusive of horses, cattle, portion of license, insurance, &c. Resolved, after- discussion, that the
trustee be empowered to receive offers for the lease and for purchase of the estate. Meeting adjourned for a fortnight.
