Train Run Away.

Passengers by the up-train on Saturday night got a pretty good scare. All wont well until a short distance this side of Aramoho, when on nearing the top of a rise the rails were found very slippy, and the stoker and guard got out to put sand on. During this time the train began to move backward, and some persons at once ran to the brakes, and as they thought, screwed them down, but instead of that, screwed them up. This gave the train a good run, and when the brakes were put on the right way, they had no power on the moving train, which ran down the decline about, half a mile. The train was delayed half an hour owing to this, and it is a wonder there was not some serious consequence.
