REVENUE RETURNS; VICTORIA. July Ist,—The Victorian revenue for the past quarter amounted to £1,381,000, an increase of £46,000 compared with the June quarter of last year. The revenue for the year 1881-82 amounted to £5,588,000, being an increase of £474,000 compared with the previous year. The following are the returns for the year:—Customs, £221,000 ; excise, £88,000; railways, £137,000 ; and stamps, £16,000. The territorial revenue shows a decrease of £IO,OOO compared with 1880. NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, July Ist.—The New South Wales revenue returns for the June quarter have been published. The total receipts for the period named were £1,907,000, being an increase of £217,000 compared with the June quarter of last year. Customs show an increase of £45,997, of which spirits contribute £20,571; taxation shows an increase of £56,518. The returns show the following decreases in revenue—From sugar, £3,345; from beer, £1,428. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Adelaide, July Ist.—The South Australian revenue for the June quarter, amounted to £517,000, being an increase of £17,000 compared with the corresponding quarter of last year. The revenue for the year ended 30th June amounted to £2,242,000, which ;is an increase of £231,000 as compared with 1880-81. The Customs receipts daring the year have increased by £85,000, and the land sales by £82,000. LONDON MARKETS. London, July Ist.—Consols have advanced to 99|, New Zealand securities remain at yesterday’s quotations. Adelaide wheat, off coast cargoes, is selling at 50s. New Zealand wheat has declined to 495. Adelaide flour, ex store, 395. Australian tallow nnclmnged. Best beef, 42s 6d ; best mutton, 43s 6d. The

total stock in London to-day was 8800 casks.

GUITEAU HANGED. Now York, Juno 30th.—Guitean the assassin of General Garfield, was hanged to-day. Peace at the Cape. Capetown, June 30th. —All hostilities in Zululand have now ceased, the rival chiefs, Oham and Dahako, having been pacified by the British Resident.
