Messrs G-. and F. Horner’s First Stock Sale. Messrs G. and F. Horner’s first stock sale at Manaia was. well attended, and the stock yarded sold freelj'. The cattle offered were all of a good class and sold fairly at the hammer. Gows fetched from £3 15s to £5 ; 3-year-old heifers, £3 15s ; 2-year-old heifers, £3 6s ; calves, £2. Mr Horner thanked the buyers present for the support given to him, and noted that the next sale would be held in about a month. Mr Horner sells quietly, but without dwelling long on stock. Anything not sold is passed, and he proceeds to the next pen. We believe that Mr Horner is somewhat new to the business, so it is only fair to state that he appeared to give general satisfaction to the company assembled. The yards are now being gravelled, and the contract will probably be completed within a week or so.— Star.
