A curious club lias lately been inaugurated in the city of New York. They do everything in thirteens ” as they are going to see if the ancient superstition that 13 is an unlucky number. The club has 13 members, it meets on the 13th day of each month, in room No. 13 in an hotel with 13 letters in its name, and it is lighted by 13 gas jets. At the last banquet the table was decked with salads arranged in the shape of a coffin, and 13 little lobsters. The eating was begun at 13 minutes past 8. The%tanmore nomination takes place on July 6tb, and the election on the I,lth. Apprehensions are felt for the health of the Bope. Bis solitary confinement in the Vatican is evidently telling disastrously on his health, and causing great prostration. His digestion is greatly disordered. His medical attendants advise some immediate change of air. It is feared that he will absolutely refuse to leave the Vatican.
