Names of writers need not lie Printed. HOW TO GET TROUT. HINTS FOR SETTLERS. I have a' great many personal enquiries and letters from residents in the Patea district and on the Waimate Plains, asking me how they can procure young trout for the purpose of stocking the viarioua streams in those localities. As my own hatching apparatus is a small one, iam unable to supply their wants myself. At the same time I think it a thousand pities that such beautiful streams as those bn the Plains should not be stocked. I think therefore my best plan is to state through the medium of your columns how such a desirable result may be attained. The ordinary English brown trout can be obtained from Mr A. M.
