Wanganui, 31st.—The sales during the fertnight have been well attended, with a slight improvement in values. AtManaia the entries were few, but at Hawera the yards were quite fulli The bidding was spirited, nearly every lot being sold at the auction. Large grown bullocks were well competed for. The demand sheep for is unsatisfied, every lot meeting a good market. Horses are more inquired after, anything with quality selling well.: Cattle.— At Mahaia about 100 head were sold at quotations. At Hawera 516 were yarded Bullocks, 3-year-old, £5 16s to £6 ; fat cows, £4 17s 6d ; cows, £3 4s 6d to £3 15s ; steers, £3 ; heifers, £2 15s 6d to £3 5,3 6d : weaners, £1 17s 6d to £2 43 6d; milch cows, up to £9 12s 6d, At the yards to-day 275 came forward —’Fat cows, £5 10s to £6 17s 6d ; 3-year-old bullocks, £6 5s ; steers, £4 15s ; heifers, £3 5s ; steers, 18-months to 2-year-old, £3 5s ; weaners, £2 5s ; cows? £3. Sheep. —At Manaia 320 were yarded— Store wethers, 10s 6d. At Hawera 820 head were sold—Ewes, 8s 9d to 9« ; wethers, 11s. At St Hill-street 1150 made up the sale—Fat wethers, 14s to 15 s; store wethers, 12s 6d ; ewes in lamb, 12s 6d. Pigs— l3l were in the yards Best bacon pigs, from 20s to 38s ; porkers up to 17s 6d ; suckers, 2s 6d. Horses—No alteration ih values. Exports— 6s cattle, 667 sheep, 71 horses; and 35 pigs.
