Hawera Gas Company.

A meeting of the promoters of the gas company was held on Friday ; Mr White in the chair. 1
Mr :B’erry, of New Plymouth, attended the meeting, and gave a great deal of useful information. He was satisfied that the venture would be successful, iand.was prepared to take up £ISOO worth of shares. It was resolved that a provisional directory be formed, to consist of the following gentlemen -Messrs F. McGuire, W. G. White, W. S. Cobhanr, M. D; King, U. H. Nolan, :E. Pulforcl. J. Duffi.il, W. A. Parkinson, C. Ranspn, W. M. Thomson ; with power to add to their number. ;
■ Mr Farrington was elected solieitor and Mr Wanklyn secretary. Meeting adjourned until Monday evening to go into preliminary business..,
The adjourned meeting was held on Monday night, when a prospectus was drawn up. Mr McGuire was elected chairman of provisional directors. . , ...
The share list will close on the ,30th June. The usual number of agents and brokers were appointed, and over £2OOO worth of shares were applied for in the room.
