The St. Andrew’s congregation (writes a correspondent) paid off their first mortgage of £l5O on the 17th of September last, and on the 20th of April last paid £SO off their second mortgage s making £2OO in the past year over their ordinary expenses. Last week a “ working bee,” consisting of representatives from the Kirk Session, the Committee of Management, communicants and adherents, assembled at the Manse, which required re-roofing, and they right heartily set to work. They ascended the roof, stripped it, and re-covered it with corrugated iron in a very short time;, thus increasing the comfort of their minister and his family without adding to the existing debt by the cost of labor. It is proposed to hold a teameeting and concert about the end of the present mouth, for the purpose of liquidating; the cost of the material. This congregation is to be congratulated upon its successful operations.
