LARGE FIRE AT\ WELLINGTON. Wellington.—A fire broke out at 10.30 on Saturday night, in the premises known ais Chew’s Buildings. The fire originated in Mr Dwan’s auction mart, which-was destroyed. The flames spread to the adjoining .premises,: one occupied by Mr McCugh, provision merchant, and the other recently occupied by a boardinghouse keeper named McNamara. Both the latter-mentioned places were gutted. The fire had a firm hold when first discovered, and it was with great difficulty that it was suppressed.
