A detective has been despatched in quest of Jas. M. Shepherd, the Timarn defaulter. A passenger by the mail steamer to San Francisco has telegraphed to Dunedin that Shepherd, the Timarn defaulter has landed at Honolulu. Any steps to arrest him will therefore be fruitless.
