Royal Wedding.
London, 26th.—A large number of royal and other distinguished personages have arrived at Windsor Castle, as guests of her Majesty on the occasion of the marriage of Prince Leopold. Festivities in connection with it have commenced. Royal DistinctionsLondon, 26lh.—The Order of the Garter was to-day conferred on the King of Holland by the Queen, at Windsor Castle. AMNESTY IN BOSNIA. Vienna, 26th. hand that hostilities between the Austrian troops and Bosnian insurgents have now entirely ceased, and that an amnesty has been granted to the latter by the Austrian commander. PRICE OP FROZEN MEAT. BAD CARGO. London, 27th.—The Garonne’s cargo of mutton has realised an average of fourpence farthing per pound. Part of the cargo was in bad condition, having apparently been frozen hastily before shipment at Melbourne. Appeal for Cetewayo. Capetown, 26th.—Telegrams are to hand from Petermaritzburg reporting the arrival there of one thousand Zulus, who have left their country to appeal to the Governor of Natal in favor of the return of Cetewayo to Zululand.
MURDER AND INSANITY.
London, 26th.—The Horae Secretary has had under consideration further affidavits forwarded by President Arthur in support of the alleged insanity of Dr Lamson, the Wimbledon murderer. After full enquiry, he has decided that the appeals made on behalf of the prisoner cannot be entertained, and it is definitely decided that sentence of death shall be carried out on the 28th.
