Removal of Te Whiti and Tohu for Trial.
Wellington. The Hinemoa sailed for New Plymouth last evening. Te Whili and Tohu,and other chiefs awaiting trial, will embark there and be conveyed to Christchurch, The, Hinemoa will probably call here on the way down.
FIRE IN FLAX MILL. Nelson.—A fire at Rutherford’s flax mill, Brightwater, burnt it down yesterday morning. The fire is said to have broken out in a hirgo shed adjacent to the mill, which was erected for flax dressing. From this the fire spread to the mill. It is estimated thpt between 2,000 and 3,000 bushels of wheat were on the premises, some being saved. Mr Rutherford, whose loss is estimated at £2,000 over the insurance, was away purchasing' for winter supply. The origin of the fire is unknown.
