MEETING OP MINISTERS. Wellington, this day.—A meeting of the Executive Council was, held at the Premier’s’ residence this afternoon. The business is formal. Nothing further likely to transpire until Sir George Grey’s arrival.

SIR JULIUS VOGEL’S RETURN. Christchurch. Last night’s Star says:—We hear that a cable message has been received by a prominent politician of this Island informing him that Sir ; Julius Vogel is preparing: for an early visit to New Zealand. The reason assigned is that Sir Julius thinks the present political situation is favorable for carrying out a some-lime favorite idea of his re-etering the arena of colonial politics."

The GOVERNOR & EX-MINISTERS “SIR G. GREY’S INTENTIONS.

Wellington, 13th.—On meeting the Governor Sir George Grey will submit to him a list of names for the proposed new Ministry. It is reported that Mr Stewart is likely to be Attorney-General, without a sect in the Cabinet. The Governor, accompanied by the private secretary, returned here from Christchurch this morning. During the forenoon his Excellency had an interview with some of his late Ministers, but the result has not transpired. His Excellency visited the Premier at his residence This afternoon. The ; interview lasted upwards of an hour. It is understood that Mr Hall will leave for his home in Canterbury in about ten days.

Auckland, 13th.— Sir George Grey left for Wellington, accompanied by Mr Seymour George, M. H.R.
