TRAIN OFF THE LINE.

Auckland. A train from here to Waikato was thrown off the line near Pukekohe this morning, through colliding with some cattle. A horse-box containing two men and a horse was thrown down an embankment. The men escaped, but the horse is not yet extricated. The line is much damaged, the rails being bent double, and sleepers smashed. NEW STEAMER DISABLED. Dunedin.—The Union Steam Shipping Company have received a cable from London dated 12lh inst, advising that the new steamer Manapori put into Lisbon with her engines disabled. Repairs are being proceeded with, and she will get away on the 25th inst; so that her arrival in Melbourne need not be looked for until about the sth June. REGATTA AT WANGANUI.
