MANAIA TOWN DISTRICT.

The following letter has been received from Major Atkinson in reference to the formation of a town district at Manaia :

—“ April B.—Pear Sir, —I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter, and of the petition of the inhabitants of Manaia for the township to be constituted a Town District, and have sent the petition to the Colonial Secretary’s office to be put through the necessary forms. lam told the petition is in proper form, and Mr. Langley has been written, to to suggest the name of a
