WOOL RISING.
The New Zealatd Loan and Mercantile Agency' Company, report, under date Loudon, 28th March:: —“ Wool competition is increasing, and quotations are On an average Id to per lb better’ than at the opening. .Up to date about 327,000 bales have been sold, 125,000 of which have been taken for export. The sale programme has been curtailed by four days. Long stable merino, scoured, washed, and light in.grease, are firmer. Short staple merino, heavy in grease, is easier. The fipe cross-bred market is firmer, and the coarse crossbred market is easier. The next sales are. limited to, 350,000 i bales, and will commence on the" 6th of May. Advices of short supplies from ; Australia have been received.:
Tallow dull of sale, being worth £42, and best beef £39 per ton. The leather market is firmer/ Best sides are w f orth Hid.
