Randwick, 9st lib . 1 Larry, 7st 81b 2 Dan, 7st 41b 3 (, Special—from our Correspondent.) In the Autumn Handicap, Larry and Dan led away, Venture getting the worst of the start. No alteration took place until passing the Stand, when Venture went through and joined the leaders. This position he did not hold long, filing back at the furthest side of the course with Norraanby, who had gone the pace very well. Then Randwick went after the leaders, and caught them coming down the hill, and the race was never again in donbt, the big chestnut having a little left. Won by a length and a half. Larry beat Dan by a neck for second place, Venture fourth six lengths away, just beat Norinanby. Time —3 minutes 13£ seconds. Randwick started first favorite, Dan carrying nearly as much money in the totalisator. Hack Hurdles. Tricotriri 1 ; Bull’s Eye 2 Mere Mere 3 Flying Mary, Nimrod, Kelpie, Gipsy 7, Billy-go-by-em also ran. Won easily. Dividend £3 16. Ih the Hurdle race the betting was level. Catch’em led from the start to the finish, and won comfortably 7. Katipo ran off the first hurdle, and not being protested against was allowed the second place. She ran last all the way until entering the straight, when she passed Totara, who started very lame but ran a good horse. Momus was just beaten for the second on the post, the pair finishing their length. off Catch’em. Totara was close up. Totalisator : 256 in, 126 on the winner.
SALE OF PATETERE. Auckland.—A cablegram has been received to effect that an agreement for the sale of Patetere land has been completed at London. Land Courts. Auckland.—Two Land Courts opened at Rotorua yesterday ; one under Judge Fenton and the other under Major Mair.
