THE RICHEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD.
A correspondent of the London Echo istarts a question as to who is the, richest woman jn the world* and he finds it is Her Majesty Queen Victoria. The :anthmetical process by which he supports this, startling hypothesis somewhat in the following fashion : —“The annual income of the Queen is £400,000. The annual expenditure is only £200,000.; The sum. saved, added together with in-
terest fpr forty-one years, would represent a total of over £15,000,000 sterling. : The bare interest on this huge capital'would yield an annual return of which, with the £200,000 not spent, would leave the handsome total of ; £650,000 as a yearly income.
