REMARKABLE METEOR. About midnight on Tuesday 14th inst., an unusually beautiful meteor was observed in a northerly direction. It shot towards the horizon, with which its path formed an angle of about 60 degrees, from a considerable altitude, and its brilliance was such that it illumined the sky, though overcast, like a small moon ; but it was especially striking as it burst upon the view through breaks in the clouds, suggesting a gigantic rocket of loveliest blue.
