Reuter's Despatches to Patea Daily Mail
This Day.
MR GLADSTONE & THE LORDS. London, 27th, night,—ln the Honse of Commons this evening, after the postponement of the orders of the day had been agreed to, Mr Gladstone brought on a motion of which he gave notice on the 20th instant, and which takes the form of a message to the House of Lords, dissenting in terms already telegraphed from its action in appointing a Select Committee to enquire into the working of the Irish Land Act. The Premier made a lengthy speech in support of the motion.
