Rifle Protest.

Wanganui.—The men intend to protest against some of the Wellington, Thames, and Nelson representatives at the Rifle Meeting, on the ground that they had been practising at a range within a mile of the Association range It is stated that the distance between targets has been measured, and found to be within a mile. It is understood that among those who will be protested against are some of the Wellington Navals, Thames Navals, and Nelson Volunteers, and that Paynter is included among the latter.
