ALPINE MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS.

The Rev. W. S. Green, with a companion and two guides, arrived in Christchurch on the ll}h. After consulting Professor Yon Haast, they determined to proceed via Albury and the McKenzie country to Mount Cook, and will follow the glacier six or eight miles, and go via a spur on the south Hochstetler glacier to the south slope of Mount Cook, and try to ascend the mountain thence. Having done this they will follow Tasman Glacier to its origin on the S.W. of Mount Darwin. They are provided with surveying and meteorological instruments, and also with photographic apparatus.
