CHEESE FOR ENGLAND.
It was reported at a recent committee meeting ol the Canterbury Agricultural Association that a cheese weighing 801b sent by the ship Opawa from Canterbury arrived in England about the middle of November in splendid condition. Through the courtesy of Sir Daniel Cooper, the cheese was distributed among various representative gentlemen, and the general verdict was that it was of very high quality, and quite equal to the best Cheddar. What concerns the shippers most is the knowledge that, if this product be properly matured (assuming that it was made with the necessary skill and care in the first instance) and packed with some nonconducting material like sawdust, there need be no apprehension as to its reaching England in a marketable condition.
