The United Ireland, newspaper, which was recently suppressed by Government, has been transferred to Paris, where it will henceforth be published. Conspiracy at Cabul. The movement recently discovered at Cabul to dethrone Ameer Abdul Rahman, and place Ayonb Khan on the throne, has been vigorously suppressed by the Ameer, who has dealt severely with all persons suspected of being concerned in the conspiracy. Commercial Treaty •_ With a view of allowing further negotiations respecting the commercial treaty between England and France, it has been agreed to prolong the treaty for a further period of two months. Gambetta and Bismarck. Great rejoicings were manifested at Berlin when news arrived of the downfall of Gambetta and his Government His hostile attitude towards Germany since the war of 1870-71 has caused him to be regarded as a dangerous enemy fo the empire. Arms in Ireland, During the last few days, 120 houses in Ireland have been searched for concealed arms; and in Galway alone twenty arrests of suspected persons have been made. Tramway Strike. Serious inconvenience is being felt throughout the suburbs of London, owing to all the men connected with tramways having struck for higher wages.
