NO SIGN OF REPENTANCE.

At a meeting of the New Plymouth Harbor Board on Friday last, it was moved by Mr McLauchlan, and seconded by Mr Dingle—“ That as the elections are now over, and as there is likely to be a slackness in political matters for some time to come, I beg leave to move that ail political loafers and agitators be forthwith dismissed from the Harbor Board works, and that none of them be again employed sooner than within three months of the next election, unless the Harbor Board champion orders the Board by telegram or otherwise to employ any special agitator to work up the electors in his own interest at an earlier date.” The motion was negatived.
