Two feet in a week is the rate at which some hop vines at Ashnrst, Manawatn district, arc reported to be growing. The Rev. Thomas Spurgeon has been gazetted an officiating minister of the Baptist Church, N.Z., under the provisions of the Marriage Act. The N.Z. Shipping Company have established a line of vessels from Liverpool to the principal ports of the colony. Three have already sailed. The Prince of Wales being recently solicited to presidc at the annual dinner of a powerful society near London, courteously replied that he had been booked for engagements every day for the next two years, but might possibly fit in a day during the third year. The London Daily News of Nov. 30th publishes a telegram from Constantinople stating that in consequence of the difficulty which has arisen with the Greek Government, the Porte now threatens to order the closing of all European post offices in Constantinople.
