TREES IN TOWNS and EYESIGHT.
A paper on the sanitary results of planting trees in towns was read by Dr Phene before the Health Section of the British Social Science Association at its recent meeting in Edinburgh. The author insisted upon the relief to the optic nerve afforded by the presence of green foliage among buildings for the eye to rest upon, and likened the effect to that of green or blue glasses in maintaining or improving vision.
