SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION,

The annual meeting of the Wanganui Sunday School Union, held on Friday evening, was celebrated hy a tea meeting in the Trinity Wesleyan Church. The The report stated : Up to the present, 14 schools have united with ns, viz,, 'irinily Wesleyan, Christ Church Episcopal, St. Paul’s Presbyterian, St. John’s Presbyterian, Kaitoki and Patea Presbyterian, Matarawa, Deni air, Wangaehu, Karere, and Okoia undenominational, and Bulls, Patea, and Hawera Wesleyan, the two former being transferred to ns from the Auckland Union roll. The total receipts from all quarters were £l2O Os iid, leaving a credit balance of £lB X4s 6d to carry forward. One of the speakers, recently arrived from Home, had been engaged in this work in the old country, where there were some 109,000 teachers and 1,000,000 scholars, and he rejoiced at the success which had attended the efforts of the union in this new land.
