MOMAHAKI LAND.

At a meeting of the Wellington Waste Lands Board on the 11th, a petition was received from the Mornahaki ( Wairoa) deferred payment settlers, requesting an extension of time for the payment of instalments. It was decided that the Board bad no power to deal with tiie matter since the passing of the West Coast Settlement Act, 1880, and also that the papers be delivered to the Waste Lands Committee of the House of Representatives with a suggestion that they ho forwarded to Mr Wray, Commissioner for the West Coast land district.
