Friday Evening, It is said that if Governmeht proceed with the financial debate to-dight, another motion of “ no confidence” will be moved from the Opposition side. Nelson and Westland members held a caucus to-day on the Representation Bill. It was agreed that Mr Gisborne should move that a basis of population alone is not satisfactory. A bill permitting Bible reading in schools has passed second reading in the Upper House. It will have little chance in the Lower.
