LIGHT FOR PATEA.

I trust that some member of the Patea Town Board will move at the next meeting in the matter of lighting the town. I notice that a firm in Auckland are advertising to supply the Brush Electric Light, No 2 machine for 1 light equal to 1500 candle power, with lamp, wire, and 12 months’ supply of carbon, for £ 100; and No 3 machine, for working two sepaiate lights equal to 3000 candle power, for £l5O. Two or three of these lamps placed in the prominent parts of the town would be of great service on dark nights. By the time the lamps could arrive from Home, the Borough will be in existence, and there should be no difficulty in that body arranging for the cost of such work.—l am, «fec., W. Dale.
