The Otago Refrigerating Company have received a cablegram that machines, have been purchased in London, and will be immediately forwarded. The 25 Per Cent. —The Treasury have-paid the sum of £2464 3s 7d into the New Plymouth Board’s account, being 25 per cent, of the proceeds from land sales within the district ot Taranaki during the three months ended 30th June, 1881. At the Education Board meeting at' Wanganui on Wednesday, the Rev Mr Ross argued in favour of something being done to relieve the Board of the great expense entailed by the travelling expenses of members from the boundaries of the district, and took theopptort unity of commenting favorably upon the regular attendance of the country members.
