LONDON WOOL &c. The New Zealand Loan and ; Mercantile Agency report, under date of London, 19th July : , The wool rnarket . is unchanged. Up to date 327,000 bales have arrived. The wheat market is quiet. The weather-is favorable for Home crop. Adelaide is worth 48s 6d and New Zealand 47s 6d per 4961b5. The tallow market is easier, stocks being heavy ; best mutton is worth £36,' and best beef £34 per ton. Leather market firm ; best sides are worth ll£d. STOCK AND PRODUCE. Mr C. F. Barker, Patea, reports :—The demand for cattle is on the increase, but holders are disinclined to quit until the spring, when they expect to get better prices. Sheep are still in large demahdFof good stores the enquiry is great. Cattle.—At Patea Yards, on Wednesday, the entries were small. '33 2-ycar-old steers fetched £8 ; fat cows did not reach owners’ reserve. ; Sheep. —7oo yarded. 150 ewes in lamb, 12s ; 136 store ewes (inferior), 8s ; 50 fat wethers, 13s 3d ; 320 lambs, 7s 2d. Horses. —Not many yarded. Enquiry for useful draughts is improving. Pigs.— l2 yarded sold at 6s 6cl. Implements. —Second-hand double furrow plough, £lO ; single furrow plough, £3 ; new Hornsby’s single, £9 Bs. I have held during the last fortnight two produce sales, a fruit and other tree sale for Mr Laird, Wanganui, and Mr Bennefield, Wanganui. The attendance at Mr Laird’s sale'was large, and considering the large quantity of trees in the market prices were very good. Gats ex Wakatu and Spec.—l have soldi 100 sacks from wharf at 3s 3d, and about 200 ex store at 3s 6d; My seed oats from Canterbury has arrived, and is selling readily at 4s ex store. ; ; Grass • Seed. —Canterbury rye from 6s 64 to 6a 9d ; local, 5s Gd . This seed will be very scarce in the spring. Holders in Canterbury, are quoting 6s f.p.b. Potatoes.— Eating potatoes are selling at from £2 15s to £3 per ton. Seedearly sorts—is being enquired for. A new sort, “ Giant Kings”, imported from England in first-rate condition,, fetched 9d per at auction. Flukes kidneys, Id per lb. Cheese.—Canterbury cheese sold at auction for 6d and 7d per lh ; local, 4d per lb. Bacon anij Hams. —l have; sold about £ ton Canterbury bacon and hams, ex Wakatu, at 9d and per lb. LAND REPORT. Mr C. F Barker reports :—There is an increasing demand either to buy or lease good farms; , I have sold Mr Keith’s lease of his farm at Patea to Mr A. G. Saunders of Christchurch ; stock, implements, &c., at valuation. I have also sold on belialf of Mr H. E. P. Adams, 4 quarter-acre sections opposite the Church, in Patea, for £l7O cash. ,
