On Friday evening Sir William Fox intends opposing the legalising the use of the totalisator. In the debate on the Licensing Bill Mr Reeves said that the universal opinion was that the Bill was now a lot of confounded rot. The Canterbury District Law Society regret the expressions attributed to Sir George Grey with regard ,to the party feeling'supposed to actuate the Judges in their administration of justice, as being opposed to facts, and also regret that the Judges should have been subjected to a gratuitous insult to * which the assailant must have known-they could not reply.
