PUBLIC MEETING in Patea.
OPENING LAND—RAILWAY PROGRESS <6 ROUTE-COUNTY REPRESENTA TION— PROTEST AGAINST SUB - DIVISION OF COUNTY— HARBOUR ENDOW-MENT-COMMITTEE. A public meeting convened by requisition to the County Chairman was held on Saturday evening, in the Town Hall building, Patea. The attendance was moderately large. Mr Dale being absent in Wellington, and the Chairman of the Town Board not being at the meeting, Mr Ailchison was voted to the chair. He referred to the importance of the subjects to be discussed, and hoped some good would result from a public expression of opinion at the present time.
