WAVERLEY.

The Mail has over 90 subserbers between Whenuakura and Waitotara.

BRANCH OFFICE OF THE MAIL, Monday Evening.

A.meeting was held in the Town Hall on Saturday evening, convened by some the town residents, to consider the action of the Waverley Domain Board in not having yet perfected the leases of the Domain. Mr Caldwell was voted to the chair, and a resolution was carried that the Chairman of the meeting communicate with the Board, urging the neqessity getting the leasts perfected as soon as possible. A meeting is called by the Chairman of the County Council for Tuesday evening in the Town Hall, for the electors in the Waverley Biding to express an opinion as to the advisableness of having a County Electoral District. This is a matter which the electors of the district should well consider before deciding. There is no doubt that the Patea County as a whole would benefit by having a local representative. The question to consider by the Waverley electors however is whether their district would reap more benefits by being included in the Patea representation, or by remaining tacked on to W anganui. to be hoped the electors will roll up express, their opinion on so important a matter. The Concert in aid of the Town Hall fund in, I believe, definitely fixed for the 28th inst. There will be both local and foreign talent, and from what 1 hare seen the programme should be a successful entertainment. Another concert is already talked of in aid of the Church of England funds. The Good Templars held their usual monthly meeting in the old Town Hall on Thursday, when the customary business was transacted.
