Mr Taplin moved. Mr Hamerton seconded, and it was resolved “ That the resolutions passed be forwarded to the Minister of Lands, the Minister of Public Works, and the Colonial Secretary ; and that copies be forwarded to Major Atkinson asking his early attention thereto, also to Mr Dale (now in Wellington) ; and that a committee consisting of the chairman of the meeting, the chairmen of the County Council, Tewn Board, and Harbor Board, and president of the P.D. Agricultural and Pastoral Association, be authorised to forward and watch the progress of the resolutions ; the committee to have power to add to their number.” Contributions were then invited towards defraying cost of telegrams, and £1 15s 7d was collected. ' A compliment to the chair closed the proceedings.
