FASHION NOTES.

Steel is the leading lace. Stockings must match the dress. Red remains the most popular colour. New hosiery matches the dress goods. Shaded silk pompons trim bonnets of ombre silk. Skirt draperies are more voluminous than ever. Pink and blue are favourite combinations in ginghams. The pcplum drapery is revived by our best dressmakers. Twilled silks take the lead for both dresses and millinery. Pleated and shirred waists, with belts and sashes, are worn. Drop ball trimmings are used for trimming satine foulard dresses. Bayadere stripes have the run of fashionable favour at present. AH new collars, whether of linen, batiste, mull, or lace are large. One of the new medium-sized poke bonnets is called the Bayadere. The lace of the passing moment is the Spanish white or black. The rage for Japanese figured stuffs for dresses is on the increase. From 100 to 300 yards of lace are frequently used on white' Summer dresses.
