AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. Messrs Hunter, and Nolan reported on the 17th ‘ , Cattle.—There has been an upward tendency in value, particularly for fat beasts. At Newmarket on Tuesday,' dairy and store stock were -without material alteration, in value, but there was a perceptible rise in the price of fat beasts, a shade over 30s per lOOlbs having been freely given for top sorts. Sheep.—The supply has scarcely been sufficient for requirements, and the demand being brisk, prices ruled in favour of the vendors. Pigs.—The supply was moderate, and good pigs realised 3d per lb. CANTERBURY GRAIN & PRODUCE. (From Canterbury Times.) Wheat.—Prices of all classes remain about the same.; Hunter’s white, 3s 6d to 3s 6£d ; and the other kinds range about from 3s 7dto 3s 9d. Picked lots command a trifle better rates than the above. Oats.—The local feeling is a shade easier, and prices are scarcely so firm ; Is 8d to Is 10d for feed) and Is lid to 2s are quoted for best milling. Potatoes. —Sales of potatoes have been made at 27s 6d to 30s, according to the railway station at which delivery is given. Grass seed remains unaltered. CANTERBURY STOCK REPORT(From Canterbuiy Times,') At the Addington Yards on the 15th, 7116 sheep, 286 cattle, arid 328 pigs were penned. Sheep.—Prime cross-breds'realised 18s ; good ditto, 14s to 16s. Wequote 2Jd per lb as an average for mutton. Several drafts of prime hoggets changed hands at from 8s Id to ITs 3d. Cattle.—.Prime bullocks realised from £9' los to £10 : 15s ; medium and light, weights, from £6 to £7 2s 6d. We quote 23s per lOOlbs as an average for beef.
