HELP FOR DISTRICT ROADS.
Wellington, Monday. The Local Bodies Conference have passed the following resolution:—That it is absolutely necessary some assistance in (ho shape of subsidy' should be given to local bodies to enable them to complete the construction of roads within districts heretofore sold by the Go\eminent, and wholly' or partially settled, the Government having failed to provide for these necessary' works out of the proceeds of sales m such districts in times past.
