Friday, before Mr C. A. Wray. INDECENT ASSAULT. Thomas Campbell, a young fellow who seemed to bo a swagger, was brought up on warrant charged with an indecent assault on Emily Baldwin, aged 13 years, at a place between Kakaramea and Woodville. Sergeant Donovan said the necessary witnesses could not be brought before Tuesday. Case adjourned till Tuesday. VAGRANT, George O’Brien was charged with being drunk and disorderly in Patea on Wednesday, and fined 20s and costs, or 48 hours; and for using indecent language was fined 40s and costs, or 14 days in gaol. CIVIL CASES. Mr Potto, saddler, obtained a judgment against a native named Angeno for £6 3s. The native said Mr Williams could pay the claim out of Kaitangiwhenua. Mr Williams shook his head and said he had nothing to do with the matter, Mr Potto was left to give as long a grace to the native as he could. Mr Ball, Kakaramea, was sued for wages. The case is mentioned elsewhere. T. Irwin, boarding-house keeper, obtained a judgment against a lodger named Begley for £1 16s.
