RECEIVED LAST NIGHT. WELLINGTON GOSSIP. Wellington, 11th. The City Council are to take the management of the new Hospital as soon as possible. Edward Garton, who recently levanted a la North, with the South Pacific Investment money, has been adjudicated a bankrupt, A bullock threw off the Masterton train on Monday last near Kaitoke; no injury to passengers. It took three hours to get the locomotive on the track again. J. H. Whitelaw preferred his charge of cruelty against the three attendants at the Mount View Asylum to-day. After a lengthy hearing the cases were dismissed, and Whitelaw is the only one committed for this crime. He has tried hard to inculpate others, but without avail.
