WAVERLEY.
The Mail has over 90 subserbers between Whenuahura and V/aitotara. Bit AN GJI OFFICE OF THE 2! AIL, Friday Evening. Large quantities of timber keep arriving in the district, and now that it can be obtained at such a low rate, people are going in for building pretty’ extensively’. A start was made towards establishing a musical society’ some time back. A committee was formed to draw up rules) &e., but I have not heard of practice being started yet. Probably, however, the want of a loom and piano have stopped progress. The Town Hal! Company’, I believe, have agreed to let the society have the use of the hall at a reasonable rate, and I think if one practice was commenced there would not be much difficulty’ in giving the society a permanent basis. There is plenty of talent in tiie district, which only wants drawing out. The committee of the quadrille assemblies has arranged to start dancing soon.
