FUNERAL OF BEACONSFIELD.

The funeral of the late Earl Beaconsfleld took place at Tlughendcn on the 20th April. The wishes expressed in his will that the ceremony should be of a simple ob .i :\cter were respected as far as possible. Nevertheless, a vast number of people assembled from all parts of the Kingdom to do honour to his remains. Among those present were their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Connaught, and Prince Leopold, and his former colleagues the Marquis of Salisbury and other leaders of the Tory party. Among the members of the present Uovernmont wore the Marquis of Hartington and Sir NV. Vernon Harcourt. Many other distinguished persons also witnessed the interment.
