The Mail has over 90 subscribers between Manutahi and Stratford . BRANCH OFFICE OF THE MAIL, Wednesday Evening. Sir William Fox gave his interestinglecture on his American experiences in the Town Hall, on Monday night, in aid of the Hawera Institute. The net proceeds amount to about £5. The gaps in Hawera principal building sites are being rapidly filled up, Mr Adams is getting a building erected next to Mr Pritchard’s chemist shop, and Mr Bate has erected a large store on the Town Board acre, and I hear of several others in contemplation. The water score is beginning to be felt hero as well as in Wellington. It is difficult, I hear, to get a good plunge in the morning at any of the hotels, and many people are complaining of the wells havingrun dry ; but notwithstanding all the dry weather we have had the grass looks fresh and green. Cricket is out, and football is in. Accordingly a meeting of those interested in the latter sport will be lield next Saturday, in order to make arrangements for the forthcoming season.
